BookCity Opens a Promising Branch in Ahvaz on World Book Day

BookCity, the largest chain bookstore in Iran with 87 branches across the country, has opened its 88th branch in the city of Ahvaz. The Ahvaz branch started its trial operation from the Iranian New Year and officially opened on May 3rd, coinciding with World Book Day. The new bookstore, located on the second floor of the Persian Gulf City Center, covers an area of 600 square meters and is managed by Ehsan Jahanshahi.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, BookCity CEO Mehdi Firouzan noted that the company’s approach is based on an open management system, where the opinions, suggestions, and innovations of all stakeholders and customers play a role in the growth and prosperity of the chain.

Firouzan pointed out that Ahvaz is known as the city of bridges and expressed his hope that the Ahvaz branch will serve as a platform for bridging diverse cultures and ideas in a city known for its bridges.

One of the followers of Ahvaz BookCity’s Instagram page responded to the news of the opening, saying, “Finally, instead of news of closures and endings, we have news of an opening, this is a promosing event in the cultural atmosphere of this city. I hope it will be managed with the same taste as other branches across the country.”

BookCity has been a leading name in the Iranian book industry since its establishment in 1996. With a wide range of books in various fields, the chain has been promoting reading culture and knowledge in the country. The opening of the Ahvaz branch is another step towards achieving this goal, bringing quality literature closer to the people in the region.
