A new book, titled Diritto Comerciale Iraniano (Iranian Commercial Law), has recently been released in Italian by Wolters Kluwer. Produced jointly by the BookCity Institute, University of Milan, and Wolters Kluwer International, this comprehensive 520-page volume serves as a conduit for commercial engagement between the historic cultures of Iran and Italy. It provides invaluable guidance to investors and legal professionals aiming for a nuanced grasp of Iranian commercial law.
Diritto Comerciale Iraniano, previously unmatched, features 20 articles authored by distinguished Iranian and Italian scholars. Its primary objective is to acquaint Italian legal experts and investors with Iran’s legal framework, particularly its trade and investment laws. Catering to Italian traders, who rank as Iran’s second largest European trading partners, the collection offers an extensive survey of Iranian legislation and robust legal backing for foreign investments.
A unique feature of this collection is its adaptation of some articles by Italian authors to Italian law, considering the differences between the Iranian and Italian legal systems. This ensures that Italian readers can properly grasp Iranian legal institutions, making the book practical for them. It’s worth mentioning that eight Italian professors who contributed to this collection are specialists in Middle Eastern and Islamic laws, familiar with Iranian legal literature and even the Persian language, which enhances the accuracy of this work.
The book covers topics such as types of companies and their management, a guide to litigation in Iran, customs regulations, laws related to intellectual property, protection of ownership and rights of foreign investors, international arbitration system, foreign investment, labor law frameworks, international transportation of goods by road and air, government procurement system, bankruptcy, foreign investment taxation, competition law, distribution contracts, maritime law regime, and regulations governing banking in Iran.
A book launch ceremony for this book will be held soon by the BookCity Institute.
